Governor's Green
The Perfect Outdoor Space for Your Celebration
The oak-lined avenue stands as a testament to timeless grandeur, drawing guests toward a cascading Italian marble fountain at its center. As a striking focal point, the fountain brings a feeling of serenity and sophistication to every event. With ample electrical access, tent anchors, and hardscape throughout, Governor’s Green is thoughtfully equipped to host large, alfresco receptions and gatherings with ease.
Garden Features
One of Columbia’s most unique outdoor venues, The Governor’s Green offers a spacious and inviting setting for receptions, celebrations, and lively gatherings of all sizes.
A Historic Oak-Lined Avenue
By the time Mrs. Anne Yarborough “Tunky” Riley became First Lady in 1979, the state had acquired what is now the Arsenal Hill properties, and she embraced the gardens as a personal restoration project. It was her vision that transformed Governor’s Green into a functional and inviting event space. At the heart of the mall stands the Italian marble fountain, donated in 1986 by the Gonzales family, founders of The State Newspaper, serving as a lasting focal point of the grounds.
