Wrought iron gates and a bubbling fountain welcome guests at the entrance, leading along brick pathways to a hidden garden beneath a majestic oak. Adorned with azaleas, fig-leaf-covered brick walls and Red Dragon Japanese maples, this enchanting sanctuary is shaded by pistachio trees, creating a peaceful, romantic setting for a truly memorable ceremony.

An Intentionally Created Space
In 2003, First Lady Mrs. Jenny Sullivan Sanford dedicated her efforts to opening the Jenny Sanford Wedding Garden for the enjoyment of all. Through her love of nature and its beauty, she sought to enhance the garden's historical grandeur by leading a restoration project. With the benevolent guidance of Charleston Landscape Architect Sheila Wertimer, a design plan emerged. With the support of those dedicated to caring for one of South Carolina's most inspiring havens, it is our hope to forever preserve this state treasure.
